We know that stepping into a church can sometimes feel daunting if you aren’t sure what to expect. At Our Lady Help of Christians & St Lawrence, you can participate as much or as little as you feel comfortable with. There are no expectations, no tests, and no dress codes — just a warm Christian welcome.

On-street parking is available along West Street and nearby local public car parks within short walking distance.
Mass Books Provided
Simple Order of Mass booklets are available at the church entrance so you can easily follow along with readings and responses.
What to Expect When You Visit
Arriving & Finding a Seat
As you enter through the porch, a greeter will give you a hymn book and Mass sheet. You may sit wherever you feel most comfortable — there are no reserved pews!
Sitting, Standing & Listening
During Mass, the congregation stands to sing and pray, and sits to hear readings from the Bible and the sermon (homily). Just follow what those around you are doing, or feel free to remain seated throughout.
Receiving Holy Communion or a Blessing
Towards the end of Mass, people walk forward to receive Holy Communion. If you are not Catholic or prefer not to receive Communion, you are warmly invited to come forward for a blessing — simply cross your arms over your chest (in an ‘X’) as you approach Fr. Daniel.
After Mass
Mass lasts about 45 minutes to an hour. Afterward, you are invited to stay for tea and coffee in the parish hall or take a stroll through the parish garden.
