You Are Welcome Here

Searching for God or exploring a new church can feel like a big step, but you don’t need to have everything figured out before you walk through our doors. There are no expectations, no pressure, and no test at the end.

Whether you come with deep faith, honest doubts, or simple curiosity, our parish community in Olney is here to accompany you at whatever pace feels right for you.

1. An Invitation to Mass

The simplest way to start is by joining us for Sunday Mass. You are welcome to sit quietly near the back, take in the atmosphere, and pray with us. Everyone is welcome to attend service, regardless of background.

3. What is RCIA / OCIA?

When you feel ready to formally explore joining the Church, we guide you through a step-by-step adult preparation pathway. In England, this is widely known as RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults), though globally it is also referred to as OCIA.

4. Adult Sacraments

If you were baptised Catholic as a child but missed First Holy Communion or Confirmation, or were baptised in another Christian denomination, this pathway provides gentle, thorough preparation tailored to your life experience.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to make a commitment if I get in touch or attend Mass?
Not at all. Exploring faith is a personal journey. You are free to attend Mass, ask questions, take your time, and step back whenever you wish without any pressure.
What if I was already baptised in another Christian denomination?
The Catholic Church recognizes valid Christian baptisms performed with water in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. You would not be re-baptised, but rather welcomed into Full Communion through Confirmation and First Eucharist.
Can I bring a partner or friend with me?
Yes, absolutely! Many people find it helpful to bring a spouse, family member, or friend along to Mass or when meeting with Fr. Daniel.
How long does the RCIA process take?
Because everyone’s journey is unique, there is no fixed clock. Formal sessions usually run through autumn and winter, culminating in receiving the Sacraments at the Easter Vigil.
